Walmy "Lise" Sveen is the lab manager for the Olopade research lab. She graduated from Rice University with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. For her M. S. in Molecular Genetics and Cell Biology at the University of Chicago, she studied genetic regulation of nitrogen fixation in a photosynthetic bacterium. After joining the Olopade lab, she did research on MTAP cloning, BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutation screening, and promoter methylation. As the lab manager, she enjoys introducing new people to the lab, and supporting staff, visitors and students.
